COMMAND

    ping (well, ICMP)

SYSTEMS AFFECTED

    Win 98

PROBLEM

This could be one big continue of something I got under 'ping' in
NT section, but truth is that this is core but somewhere regarding
handling of ICMP packets. Following was found by rewt. Try
pinging the windows box with large amounts of icmp... He left 5
screened pings, each set to 65000 size... Windows will freeze
shortly after its loaded. You might also try to ping with -f.
    Windows 98 will *REBOOT* after a ping -f 65000... and wasn't need
to make several screen boxes... With only one

        ping -f -s 65000 (host to KO)

the system will reboot (tested from Linux Slackware 3.6 Kernel
    2.0.36).

SOLUTION

Nothing yet. Anyone there tested other win systems?
