    WinNT

PROBLEM

Micheel Schimanski posted following. In article Q196444 MS wrote,
that a fix for the problem below will be available with the SP5
for NT. Seems like this it not correct.

When Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.0 SP1, included in
the Windows NT 4.0 SP4, is installed on a Proxy Server 2.0
computer, ODBC logging can no longer be configured. An attempt to
do so causes the following error to occur, even though the
    supplied parameters are correct:

ODBC Error - The Data Source Name (DSN) may be incorrect

This was tested on Windows NT Server 4.0 SP5 (both german) with a
Proxy Server 2.0 (english). After a sucessfully installation of
SP5, there is still no function to log Proxyinformations into an
    ODBC-Database. Same error, same problem.

SOLUTION

Another user had the same problem trying to log Proxy activity to
a SQL Server. He was running Proxy Server 2.0 on Winnt 4.0 with
SP 5. He called up Microsoft and received the hotfix. It is not
fully regression tested and has not been released to the public
yet. This fixed the problem. So, call your MS support.
