PROBLEM

    There is a way to make NT RPC crash if ypu use following:

        $ smbclient -U verylongname -M host (from Unix)

    This Samba program sends a  windows popup message to an  NT system
    from Unix. With a long username, it crashes RPC on NT, and  brings
    the systems to its knees.

SOLUTION

    Apply Service Pack 3.
