    Compaq Servnet and SP6a

PROBLEM

    Lee DAmore found following.  He had 2 Compaq 6500 servers  running
    MicroSoft Cluster Server (MSCS  ver 1.0) using a  Compaq Servernet
    Adapter to run the heartbeat between the nodes.  After  installing
    SP6a on both nodes in the cluster, the nodes would hang up.

SOLUTION

    Troubleshooting  led  to  renaming  the  SPAD.SYS  driver  and the
    problem went away.  Lee  then tried copying the NDIS  drivers from
    SP5 onto the server and reenabling the Servernet adadpter and  the
    problem was also solved.  Seems to be some incompatability between
    NDIS  updates  in  SP6a  and  Compaq  Servernet driver.  Contacted
    Compaq and opened an incident.
