COMMAND

    Quake

SYSTEMS AFFECTED

    Quake

PROBLEM

Alex Medvedev found following. Running the following command on
    a quake1 server's ip address:

        # nmap -sU -p 26000 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

in most cases will "crash" the quake1 server program. Attempts
to connect to or query it with qstat will result in "no response"
message. This has been tested with nmap V. 2.3BETA14.

ProQuake servers are very much effected by this bug.

SOLUTION

The bug described below has been fixed in ProQuake, the author
J.P. Grossman has released ProQuake 1.02, this version also
    introduces a pq_draqfps console variable.

ID was checking for a message and if the packet size was zero then
it was an error, then preventing any more connections. Yet
    another ID Software bug.
