SYSTEMS AFFECTED
    Mac OS
PROBLEM
VallaH found an interesting problem with the macintosh tcp/ip
stack with system 7.1 and 8.0. It seems that if your send a large
quantity of tcp syn's at a high rate Mac tcp 7.1 crashes and 7.8
uses ALOT of cpu (80%). To recreate this bug just get a copy of
strobe and portscan a mac until it hits all 65535 ports, they
    will see the effects.
SOLUTION
This is a known problem with MacOS versions <8.0 (and many other
operating systems as well). This problem has been solved with
    OpenTransport 1.2
